	1998 Vintage Report Ref: 1998. was a successful vintage in Bordeaux with a wet Spring and a hot dry summer. The grapes were harvested late and were ripe and thick skinned. An overall good Bordeaux vintage. 1998 was outstanding for Red Burgundy and very good for White Burgundy. It was a very good vintage in the North and a good vintage in the South of the Cote du Rhone. In Portugal, there was a tiny crop which produced some very good single Quinta vintage ports.
