Scoring 90/100 Parker points This lovely St Emilion Grand Cru Classe red wine from the good 1988 vintage is "One of the vintage's more hedonistic wines, Larmande's 1988 was delicious young, yet continues to mature evenly and impressively. The wine remains a dark purple color with only slight lightening at the edge. It offers an intense aromatic profile, with gobs of licorice, mineral, blackberry and cherry fruit scents. Similar notes, in addition to a subtle tobacco weediness, can be detected on the palate of this full-bodied, rich, pure, spicy, smoky-styled wine." Drink now - 2009. A delicious present.
