From the good 1997 vintage and scoring 87-89/100 Parker points, "This is an elegant, pleasingly-textured Branaire with a dark ruby/purple color, and tell-tale aromas of vanillin, lead pencil, minerals, black raspberries, and cherries. The wine has sweet fruit, low acidity, plenty of cherry liqueur/cassis-like flavors, no hard edges, and excellent to outstanding purity. It will be delicious young, yet keep for 10-15 years."
