 | 1855 Scion Vintage Port 1855 Ref: 8532 An extremely rare, cask-aged Tawny Port dating back to the mid 19th Century has been uncovered by Head Winemaker, David Guimaraens, in the village of Prezegueda in the Corgo Valley. Owned by a distinguished Douro family and passed down as a private family reserve through several generations, it only came to light after the recent death of the sole direct descendent. Her heirs decided to sell the remaining two pipes to Taylors earlier this year, a third was said to have been acquired by Winston Churchill. This unique piece of history is now available at vintagewinegifts.co.uk. Rober Parker score 100/100 points "clear dark brown colour that looks like a mature Tokaji, with thick tears in the glass. It has a very intense, almost honeyed bouquet with allspice, singed leather, pressed rose petals, molasses, mint and a touch of dried fig. The oxidation is minimal, which is quite remarkable for its age, a sense of ebullience and joie-de-vivre bursting forth. The palate is full-bodied with intense honeyed fruits, touches of fig, date and liquorice vying for attention, biting acidity that cuts through the intense fruit. This is unbelievably fresh and vibrant with an almost Sauternes-like quality on the honey-glazed, hazelnut-tinged finish. It has unbelievable length. Simply stunning."

 | 1953 Kopke Vintage Colheita Port 1953 Ref: 12486/M2 This very rare 1953 Tawny port "opens with the powerful aromatics, promising dense and concentrated juice, that makes me adore mature Colheitas so much. This is what it is all about at this end of the scale. Juicy and sweet on the long finish, it has bursts of enlivening acidity and some portents of elegance to come, but it is the dark, brandy-laced nuance on the finish with intense notes of molasses, bitter chocolate and treacle that helped make it special. Its very dark feel was nicely cut by the acidity, making it surprisingly sunny at times with actual hints of elegance. This is very fine, complex, sturdy and quite spry for a 60 year old. Despite the concentration and power, it still seems quite elegant as it comes together." 97 points. Wine Advocate.. Drink now - 2020. SOLE UK INTERNET DISTRIBUTOR

 | 1991 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port 1991 Ref: 13170/A37 From the very good 1991 vintage and scoring 89/100 Parker Points "The 1991's impressive color and flashy nose of pepper, spice, earth, black truffles, and black fruits, suggest a developed, forward character. Medium to full-bodied, with significant tannin and moderate sweetness, this 1991, although impressive, was almost overwhelmed in a blind, peer group tasting by some of the more rich and concentrated examples. Already approachable, give the 1991 5-7 years of cellaring and drink it over the next 20-25." Drink now - 2027. A Stunning gift.
