From the outstanding 2020 vintage and from the very rare Domaine Sylvian Cathiard & Fils vineyards, this super red wine scored 92-6/100 points by Jasper Morris and Burghound stated "A markedly more restrained nose only reluctantly displays its array of much more floral scented red currant, cherry and anise whiffs. Somewhat surprisingly, the larger-scaled flavours are not quite as dense but even so they are more powerful, muscular and minerality while the overtly firm supporting structure really becomes apparent on the dusty, youthfully austere and explosively long finish. As is usually the case at this stage, the Cathiard Malconsorts is largely a block of potential so plenty of patience will be required but it should ultimately be brilliant." Drink now - 2045.
