The 2007 vintage in Bordeaux was a good year with the warmest April for 50 years followed by a very dull May and summer. Growers became very concerned until 60 days of unbroken sunshine in late summer saved the harvest. The Margaux region is the pick of the wines this year. 2007 was a very good vintage for White Burgundy and a good vintage for Red Burgundy. It was an outstanding vintage in the North and South of the Cote du Rhone. In Portugal an outstanding vintage was declared. The Champagne region also produced some good Champagne which is drinking beautifully. It was also a very good vintage in Italy for red wines.
