Poor weather throughout Europe did not help wine makers in Bordeaux, Burgundy and the North and South of the Cote du Rhone. In Portugal some outstanding Colheita (Tawny) ports were made. Armagnac is a good choice for this vintage or Rivesaltes, the sweet red wine from the South of France, which is newly bottled having been stored in cask and is drinking beautifully with vintage port like flavours.
