The 1957 White Horse Cellar "The Old Blend" Scotch Whisky is a highly legendary historic bottling bottled at 70 proof (approx. 40% ABV). During the 1950s, the heart of the White Horse blend relied heavily on heavy, peaty malts from Lagavulin, Talisker, and the ghost distillery Malt Mill (which closed in 1962), making it taste radically different from modern blends.
Nose: Rich, smoky-peaty sherry aromas blend with mineral peat, old leather, and a distinctly dusty, old-book aroma. You will find hints of dried orange peel, herbal tea, and a briny, coastal Islay peatland character.
Palate: Surprisingly oily, full, and creamy on the texture. It balances an old, salty sherry cask woodiness with sweet smoke, mild black pepper, and honeyed malt.
Finish: Medium to long, fading into a warm, dry sweetness of caramel, liquorice, and a lingering, elegant peat smoke. It leaves a slightly dusty, herbal, and faintly bitter, tea-like warmth.

What is your returns policy? Should the wine be corked it must be returned to our cellars, in the original packaging and original condition within one year from the date of purchase for a replacement. Should the particular wine not be available another wine of no lesser price/quality may be substituted. We will only replace the original corked bottle and not any subsequent bottle that may also be corked. If the replacement bottle is to be shipped outside the UK a new delivery charge is payable. Our corkage policy does not apply to trade sales and for customers connected with the wine trade.
