Scoring 94/100 Parker points, "The 1976 Único was produced with 60% Tinto Fino, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 2% Malbec and Albillo with 13.5% alcohol, and it probably aged longer in oak and was possibly bottled at different times according to demand. There might be some bottle variation in the old wines (like elsewhere in the world, it was not the same as today...), and the 1970s were not the best decade for Único. But this 1976 was quite good, better than the 1972 but not as good as the 1974, ripe, juicy and a bit liquorous, despite keeping the poise at 13.5% alcohol. It's tasty and supple, rounder and with more volume, more in the style of the rounder years. Production was "only" 37,000 bottles and 1,500 magnums. " Drink now - 2030.

From the outstanding 2015 vintage and scoring 93/100 Parker points "The classical 2015 Viña Real Reserva is a blend of Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano from a warm and early harvest that fermented in stainless steel vats and aged in new oak barriques for 22 months with rackings every four months. I find it very expressive, aromatic and open, ripe and hedonistic but without excess. It has the soft and approachable profile of the Alavesa wines but with the grip of the fine-grained, chalky tannins. It's gentle but has clout. " Drink now 2034.

The nose is well-defined with ripe blackberry, bilberry, iodine and a touch of vanilla derived from the wood. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe blackberry, leather and a touch of sage, building nicely towards a voluminous, tannic finish that easily supports the weight of toasty fruit.
