2011 Croft Vintage Port 2011 (1/2 bottle)

From the outstanding 2011 vintage and scoring 92-5/100 Parker points "The 2011 Croft is initially taciturn on the nose, even after allowing it 20 minutes in my glass. A light swirling immediately awakens the aromatics to offer blackberry, Seville orange marmalade, blueberries and dried fig – complex and quite compelling. There is real mineralite within this bouquet that, returning after 30 minutes, offers alluring ocean spray scents rolling in off the ocean. The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety-smooth opening that belies the fine, structured tannins underneath." Drink now - 2045.

2011 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 2011 (1/2 bottle)

From the outstanding 2011 vintage and scoring 96-8/100 Parker points "The 2011 Taylor’s Vintage has a multifaceted, Pandora’s Box of a nose that is mercurial in the glass: cassis at first before blackberry and raspberry politely ask it to move aside, followed by wilted rose petals and Dorset plum. Returning after one 45 minutes that nose has shut up shop. The palate is sweet and sensual on the entry, plush and opulent, with copious black cherries, boysenberry and cassis fruit, curiously more reminiscent of Fonseca! It just glides across the palate with a mouth-coating, glycerine-tinged finish that has a wonderful lightness of touch, demonstrating how Vintage Port is so much more accessible in its youth nowadays. But don’t let that fool you into dismissing the seriousness or magnitude of this outstanding Taylor’s." Drink now - 2050.

2011 Warres Vintage Port 2011 (1/2 bottle)

From the outstanding 2011 vintage and scoring 93-5/100 Parker points "The Warre’s Vintage was picked beginning on September 18 at Quinta da Cavindha, with fruit also sourced from Quinta do Retiro and Quinta da Telhada. It is a blend of 37% Touriga Nacional, 23% Tinta Franca and 40% mixture of old vines. There is a lovely sea spray note on the 2011 Warre’s that emerges after ten minutes in the glass. It is nicely defined with a tangible mineral component. The palate is very well-balanced with fine tannins, very well-judged acidity and a languorous feel, as if everything is in place and it does not want to show off. This is a lovely, refined 2011 one of the most elegant 2011s. This is a classic Warre’s. 3,000 cases declared. " Drink now - 2050.

2011 Graham's Vintage Port 2011 (1/2 bottle)

From the outstanding 2011 vintage and scoring 95-7/100 Parker points "The 2011 Graham’s comes from the five quintas that have been the source for many years (Malvedos, Tua, Vila Velha, das Lages and Vale de Malhadas). It represents a selection of the 131 pipes from a total production of 1,454 and is a blend of 40% Touriga Nacional, 31% Touriga Franca, 6% Sousao and 23% mixture of very old vines. It has a more serious bouquet compared to the Dow, with beguiling scents of blackberry, wild hedgerow, tobacco and cloves. Straight-laced, very well-defined and compelling, the palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins and supremely well-judged acidity. It is utterly harmonious, with a pure core of ripe black cherries, damson, marmalade, clove and spices, and the finish lingers long in the mouth. " Drink now - 2050.

2011 Fonseca Vintage Port 2011 (1/2 bottle)

From the outstanding 2011 vintage and scoring 97-99/100 Parker points "The Fonseca 2011 is typically more forthcoming on the nose compared to the bashful Croft: a strident bouquet with lifted scents of freshly picked blackberries, kirsch, crushed stone and a dash of Hoi Sin and oyster sauce. It is very well-defined, very focused and direct. The palate is silky smooth with not a rough edge in sight, though not a typically voluptuous Fonseca because of the keen thread of acidity and the structure that lends this mighty Port wonderful backbone. A slight viscosity on the finish lacquers the tongue and indicates a core of sweet fruit is ticking away underneath that will surely explode several years after bottling. A tincture of salted licorice on the aftertaste is very attractive. This will turn out to become an outstanding Fonseca, the growing season taming its exuberance with spectacular results." Drink now - 2050.

2011 Vintage Port 2011 Declaration Report

An outstanding Vintage Port year with all the major port houses declaring. Winemaker Charles Symington (Maker of their main brands, including Graham Vintage Port , Dow Vintage Port , Warre Vintage Port , Cockburn Vintage Port , Quinta do Vesúvio Vintage Port and Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port) described the 2011 Vintage Ports as "characterized by an unusual combination of elegance with power and structure." Paul Symington, CEO, emphasized their marked minerality with schist-edged tannins, and Charles Symington cited an attractive "fragrant wet-earth scent," which could be credited to the success of the Touriga Franca grape. The winemaker David Guimaraens stated "The 2011s stand out for the purity of the fruit and the quality of the tannins, which are silky and well-integrated, but provide plenty of structure,"

2015 Cockburns Late Bottled Vintage Port 2015

From the good 2015 vintage, this LBV Port is deep ruby-black core and narrow red rim with purple highlights. The intense and youthful nose displays very fine, complex red and black berry fruit aromas. Ripe strawberry notes and discreet leafy, herbal scents are suffused in a powerful redolence of dark brambly woodland fruit and blackcurrant jam. As is typical of Taylor’s, the nose is beautifully delineated with very fine, focused fruit. The palate has impressive density and vigour, with thick, mouth filling tannins providing both structure and body. Luscious berry fruit flavours linger into the long finish. As usual, this LBV shares the pedigree of the great Taylor vintage ports but is made in an approachable style, ready for drinking now by the glass. Drink now - 2033.

2017 Croft Vintage Port 2017

From the outstanding 2017 vintage, this vintage Port scored 95/100 Parker Points "is a field blend aged for approximately 20 months in French oak. It comes in with 97 grams of residual sugar. This was only seen before bottling previously. Now, with some bottle aging, it looks super, superior to the 2016, also reviewed, and a fine 2017. It is, of course, extremely young. It's tight but not astringent (at least with decanting); the fruit is as if just crushed, and it is beautifully balanced. This is not even close to showing all it has. Throw it in the cellar. You can drink it now, but you'll just be wasting it. Right now, this and the 2016 are close, but I predict this will pull ahead with every passing year." Drink now - 2065.

2019/20 Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage Port (Silk lined wooden gift box)

From the 2019/20 vintage, this LBV Port is deep ruby red with vivid purple highlights on the rim. The first impression is of intense woodland fruit with crisp brambly blackcurrant and blackberry aromas. The nose has a youthful freshness and vigour, the first burst of powerful, black berry fruit slowly revealing undertones of raspberry and cherry, scents of wild herbs and discreet warmer notes of liquorice and coffee. Although the aromas have a sensuous dimension, this elegant and polished LBV displays the characteristic Taylor definition and restraint. The palate is supported by taut, sinewy but perfectly integrated tannins and delivers a surge of powerful woodland berry flavours from the outset which are sustained into the long finish. As usual, this LBV shares the precision and elegance of the great Taylor Fladgate Vintage Ports in a more approachable and early drinking style. Drink now - 2033.
